4 Fun Activities for your Cat

These fun activities will keep your kitty busy for hours! Be sure to put a thumbs-up for the ones you like! (Notice that not all activities may appeal to every cat.)

  1. Bubble time!

Cats love chasing and batting at stuff, right? This fun exercise will keep your cat active and engaged! Dawn dish soap makes a good and pet safe bubble fluid.

2. Try teaching him a new trick.

I know what you’re probably thinking. Cats are lazy. You can’t teach them tricks! Well, actually, you can. Cats are intelligent and fast learners, and are naturally athletic. Teaching them a new trick will enhance their attention span, and help you bond with your kitty. It may take a bit more patience than required with dogs, since cats can be stubborn, but it is possible.

3. Play hide-and-seek!

A lot of cats enjoy a classic game of hide and seek. A good way to introduce him to the game is by hiding a treat under a blanket while he is watching, then give him some space as he pounces and tries to figure out how to get at it. For kittens, use a small lap blanket.

4. Fetch.

It’s quite obvious that you’re thinking that fetch is for dogs. Well, technically, it is, but cats may enjoy the game, too. Start by finding a toy that he goes nuts for. This may be a stuffed mouse, a ball, etc. Next, cover it in catnip scent, or, it it happens to be a toy with holes in it, stuff a treat inside of it. Make sure your cat is watching. Next, throw the toy and retrieve it your self to make sure that the cat understands the object of the game. Try this until your kitty is able to perform the trick on her own.
