(The odor can get quite strong, especially that of unneutered males.) Be wise about the litter that you choose also (less mess is the best)!

Cat food

The right cat food can vary on the cat’s age and if it has special needs. Elderly cats will need a diet with a higher concentration of protein than that of regular adult cat food. Kittens will need to be given wet food at first and then should be introduced to dry food as they mature. Talk to your vet before purchasing any particular foods or products, however.

Grooming items

Grooming is essential for maintaining a cat’s healthy fur. A cat with longer fur will have to be groomed quite often, so perhaps consider this before buying a very fluffy cat. The cat will also have to be washed regularly. Talk to your vet about regular grooming and additional healthcare advice.
